The DANK School Chicago offers instruction in the German language, with engaging curriculum for both children and adults. As the oldest DANK language school, DANK School Chicago is dedicated to achieving the highest standards in German language education.
Children's courses run for 3 hours on Saturday mornings from September through May. Students are first grouped by age, then by ability level, ensuring proper attention and challenging, yet appropriate instruction. Krabbelgruppe, offered for 1 1/2 hours, is for toilet-trained youngsters and their parents. For older children, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, classes take place from 9am to 12pm on Saturdays throughout the school year. The teacher to student ratio is kept low, creating a supportive environment for learning to speak, read, write, and comprehend the German language. There is also an active parent-teacher association, sponsoring such events such as the Christmas Party, Fasching, and Mother's Day Celebration.
Registration for the children's school will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11am on the 3rd floor of the DANK-HAUS (teachers will be available for questions starting at 9am). Yearly tuition for the Krabbelgruppe is $220 per child. Tuition for pre-kindergarten through 8th grade is $450 per child; there may be an additional cost for study books.
The DANK School Chicago is ideal for children of German-speaking parents, native-born German children spending time here in the U.S., and children who simply want to learn a foreign language. The sooner a child starts learning a foreign language, the better. Knowledge, ability, and creativity are cultivated through the study of German, one of the world's most important and influential languages. Give your children the opportunity of a lifetimeregister today!

Adult courses take place on Wednesday evenings, from 6:30pm to 9pm. Running from September through June, the courses are divided into two terms of 18 weeks each. All levels are offered on a yearly basis, starting in September. Students will be placed into levels ranging from beginning to advanced, based on their ability. Classes are taught by motivated teachers, who understand the challenges of learning a foreign language in today's busy world.
Fall registration for the adult school will take place on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at 6pm, on the 3rd floor of the DANK-HAUS, with winter and spring registration later in the school year. While it is not a requirement, students are encouraged to participate in both terms, to increase their knowledge of and exposure to the German language. The cost for each term is $270, payable on the first day of class for the term; there may be an additional cost for study books.
