German Early Childhood Classes
WELCOME at the DANK Haus!
The DANK Haus welcomes families with toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners in our German immersion playgroups. Learn German, meet other German families, and make multicultural friends in a German speaking environment. Our dedicated teachers are German native-speakers and our curriculum is carefully developed to meet the linguistic, social, and emotional needs of different types of learners. For these age groups, all language levels are mixed and welcome!
What is Krabbelgruppe? Think playgroup meets German Circle Time! In this fun and playful parent-child get-together, families gather for a round of German songs & rhymes, play and fun activities introducing children (and sometimes parents/care takers alike) to the German language. Register here.
Children in Preschool (ages 3 and 4) will be exposed to play-based immersion language classes that foster intellectual growth skills as well as German language skills. In fun activities and age appropriate projects, your child will playfully learn colors, shapes, numbers, animals, weather, and family members. In addition to practicing their German German language skills in movement songs, nursery rhymes (Fingerspiele) and in story time, our preschoolers learn essential social and emotional skills while playing and learning with each other. Children in Preschool and Kindergarten classes must be toilet trained. Register here.
In our German immersion program, kindergartners (age 5 and 6) will have plenty of opportunities to practice their German language skills in fun circle time games, story times, nursery rhymes, songs and crafts while having a chance to play with their friends to develop their social emotional skills. During circle time and in fun activities, our young students also participate pre-literacy games with German letters sounds. Register here.
**In Preschool and Kindergarten, we are not working with work- or vocabulary sheets.
