Hä? What does this gibberish mean? Well, the literal translation of idioms and phrases never makes any sense. But in German you can speak "through the flower" (durch die Blume) if you want to say something not-so-nice, and want to soften the blow. And having a tomcat (einen Kater haben) means that you had too much to drink last night and are now hung over. Fun fact: Even you muscles can have a hangover, when you have a "Muskelkater"!
