| Sean Smith | Director of DevelopmentSean Smith (he/him) is a nonprofit executive with over 20 years of experience. Sean has held chief executive, development, and government affairs positions in nonprofits of varying sizes. Most recently, he has been a consultant advising organizations on a variety of matters, including fundraising, government affairs, strategic planning and board development. Sean has served in senior positions at Howard Brown Health, the Midwest’s largest LGBTQ+ community health center, and Center on Halsted, the thriving Chicago LGBTQ+ community center. He has also served as President & CEO of the Edgewater Chamber of Commerce, as a fundraiser and gala manager at the Museum of Science and Industry, and as national director of development for an international charity founded by a senior member of the British Royal Family. He celebrates Chicago as “The City of Neighborhoods” and enjoys its rich ethnic and racial diversity. A proud descendant of German immigrants on his mom’s side, and Irish on his dad’s, Sean celebrates the American immigrant experience, including the German and Irish diasporas.
