Willkommen to our Summer Classes 2024! While the sun tickles your endorphines out of their shell, learning German will enhance your mood even further.

Class Description

What is culture? How does it influence us and our everyday interactions? What about culture makes us “German” or “American?” How do we navigate cultural differences effectively? In this course we will explore the concept of “culture” as if refers to a social system of action and order that is not understood as rigidly fixed, but as a form of social practice. In an ongoing process, people negotiate the rules they need to organize their everyday lives and coexistence. We will also take a deep dive into the dynamic intersection of German and American culture, introduce perspectives on culture and cultural differences, as well as examine the skills and knowledge that contribute to the development of intercultural competence.
