Arina Dähnick is a Berlin-based photographer and photo artist in the fields of architecture and interior design. She approaches architecture and buildings with her Leica rangefinder camera in the style of architectural portraits, which is unusual as they do not show people, but rather buildings.

Arina is the official photographer of the Ludwig Mies van der Rohe designed Edith Farnsworth house in Plano, Illinois which is celebrating its 20th year of being open to the public on June 11th. Her projects 'Living with MIES' and 'The MIES Project' have taken her to the timelessly iconic buildings in Europe and the USA designed by Mies, the architect central to modernism.

In addition to numerous photos, exhibitions and publications, she will share the many interesting encounters and stories she has had and heard from people who live in Mies van der Rohe designed buildings.

The lecture will be followed by a small reception with a glass of wine and charcuterie included. Additional drinks will be available for purchase.

This event is jointly organized by the DANK Haus German American Cultural Center and the Chicago Columbia Club.
