Willkommen to the 2026/27 school year at the Kinderschule!
class description
This high-level course bridges the gap between conversational speech and true academic mastery, bringing students on par with the rigorous "Abitur" standards expected of graduates in Germany. While this course offers comprehensive preparation for the Deutsches Sprachdiplom II, sitting for the exam is entirely voluntary to ensure that the pressure of testing does not outweigh the joy of learning.
Our curriculum is globally recognized through accreditation by the Zentralstelle für Auslandsschulwesen (ZfA) and follows the CEFR framework.
Students also are invited to meet every first Monday of the month at "Jugendtreff" (RSVP here),where we have foosball, snacks, and great conversation with new friends who share their passion for the language.
This class is taught online (students may take this class at the Haus - bring headphones!).
Meeting times
ONLINE: Saturdays (see calendar here)
- 9-10:30am (Session I) Fortgeschrittene (Advanced)
- or 10:45-12:15pm (Session II) Einsteiger (Beginner)
Your child(ren) can take the class at our Haus (bring headphones!), and help out as an assistant with the younger students before class or afterwards (school day ends at 12pm).
Class placement
If your child(ren) has been enrolled with us in the school year 2025/26, and has passed the DSD I exam, this is the right class. Students generally take this class for at least a full year before they prepare for the actual exam and many students take this class for two years before taking the exam.
If you are not sure about your child(ren)'s level, please have them take this short placement test and send us the results. If your child(ren) is 12 years old or younger, please sign them up with our in-person Saturday school, we do offer all levels.
Price
Our school year has 30 sessions, and costs $675 for friends of DANK (become a friend
here!). Generally, if you are signing up more than one child, the family friend option pays for itself and you will be able to take advantage of all our special offers for our friends throughout the year. For the general public the price is $711.
ACHTUNG! EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: If you sign up between May 1st and May 31st, the Friends of DANK Haus price is $659 and the price for the general public is $693.
You will receive a single invoice for this shortly after you have signed up. Should you require an alternative payment schedule, please contact kinderschule@dankhaus.com for options.

Sign up is free, we will send you an invoice after you have signed up.
Early Bird Pricing runs May 1 - May 31st, 2025.
Regular pricing runs June 1st - July 14th. If you sign up after July 15th, there is a $25 surcharge, if you sign up after August 15th, there is a $50 surcharge.
