Willkommen to the 2026/27 school year at the Kinderschule!
class description
This class works toward the Deutsche Sprachdiplom, and offers B1-level students a language-focused environment to explore German cultural themes and developmentally appropriate topics in line with German school standards. We place a special emphasis on refining writing, grammar, and spelling, ensuring students feel articulate and confident in their expression. While the DSD I exam is an optional milestone, our curriculum provides thorough, in-depth preparation; we typically recommend two years of study at this level to ensure students are fully exam-ready.
While students meet on Fridays, they are welcome to participate in Saturday School events, and may participate in preparations for these events (such as our annual exhibit).
Students should be 11 years or older to participate in this class, and speak, read and write German on a B1 level. If you are not certain about your child's proficiency level, contact us at kinderschule@dankhaus.com.
Meeting times
Class meets every Friday for two hours from 4:45-6:45pm. Please check our calendar for days that we are off.
We will have a meet & Greet on Friday, August 28th, 5-6pm.
First Day of Class will be September 11, 2026.
Price
Our school year has 30 sessions, and the whole year costs $899 for friends of the DANK Haus (become a friend here!). Generally, if you are signing up more than one child, especially beyond the Krabbelgruppe, the family friend option pays for itself and you will be able to take advantage of all our special offers for our friends throughout the year. For the general public the cost for this class is $947/school year.
There is a one time materials & book fee of $45 which will be billed with the first invoice.
ACHTUNG! EARLY BIRD SPECIAL: If you sign up between May 1st and May 31st, the friends of DANK Haus price is $877 and the price for the general public is $923.
During the registration process you can select whether you would like to pay in one lump sum, or if you prefer to pay in monthly installments. Should you require an alternative payment schedule, please contact kinderschule@dankhaus.com for options.

Sign up is free, we will send you an invoice after you have signed up.
Early Bird Pricing runs May 1 - May 31st, 2026.
Regular pricing runs June 1st - July 14th. If you sign up on or after July 15th, there is a $25 surcharge, if you sign up after August 15th, there is a $50 surcharge.
