Soul Kitchen is a delicious, free spirited story of food, friends, and rock & roll. It centers on a likable but hopelessly disorganized restauranteur, Zinos (Adam Bousdoukos) whose café is second home to a motley crew of lovable eccentrics. When his girlfriend leaves him for Shanghai, he decides to follow her to China, leaving his brother Illias (Moritz Bleibtreu) to manage the restaurant. When he returns, he finds his restaurant being taken over by his brother’s criminal friends.

Faith Akin’s (Head-On, The Edge of Heaven) hilarious and heartfelt film, set to an infectious soul and funk soundtrack, won two prizes and the Venice Film Festival. Furthermore, the story is based on Adam Boushoukos own experiences as the owner of a Greek tavern named ‘Taverna”, where Akin was a regular customer.

Movie will be shown in German with English subtitles.
