2022 Theme: German-American Life

Welcome to the DSD Scholarship Application Site. Before you start the application please review our guidelines here:

WHAT IS THE DSD SCHOLARSHIP?

• It is a one-year tuition free enrollment in one of our DSD programs.
• Disclaimer: Taking part in the program does not automatically lead to a certificate or taking the test, as completion of the program depends on the skill level of the participant and cannot be guaranteed after one year.

• Students who are at least 13 years old.
• Students who have some prior German knowledge (at least on level CEFR A1/A2).
• You can apply for this scholarship every year, independent of whether you have received this scholarship before.
  

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS:

• Application deadline is August 1st, 2022.
• Classes start September 2022.
• Classes may be fully online and/or hybrid and/or in-person.
• Our jury will select the winner based on creativity, German language proficiency, and the impact it will make for the student.
• Notifications will be send out by mid-August.
  

HOW TO APPLY:

• Tell us, in German, what being German-American, or an American who speaks German, or an American-German means to you. You can send us an essay, a comic, a short video, or something else that shows and explains the significance.
• Fill out the application form and attach your work in it.
