Weekday Preschool

Willkommen zur Preschool! In our German immersion preschool classes we teach children 3 to 5 years old.

Our preschool program is a play- and project-based program where students have time for free play with their class friends along with structured projects that incorporate the different seasons, cultural events, the environment, kids' interests, and more. Each project lasts about 4-6 weeks and is driven by the children's curiosity and ideas which will be incorporated in the learning process. All projects will cover science, reading, mathematical concepts, music, art, and crafts, and will be taught in German. Our older preschool students may take part in K-Prep (Kindergarten Preparation) in the afternoon, while the younger students continue their usual preschool program.

All students who require a nap will have a option to sleep during the day. Students who do not nap will still have "quiet time" in the classroom.

Kinderschule also nurtures physical well-being through frequent trips to the playground or walks in the neighborhood (weather permitting), and physical education in the DANK Haus. Every project includes a field trip, and students will take public transportation to the zoo, museums, community centers, and more.

Once our preschoolers are old enough they can transfer to our Kindergarten.

Diversity and Gender Norms

At our Haus, we aim to foster respect and inclusivity. While the German language has a grammatically strict framework, we recognize the implications of these norms and aim to teach our students a more inclusive approach to using the language. Please inform us if you or your child have a preferred noun and/or pronoun you would like to use.
